About Mr Shoaib’s Medicolegal Work

As a consultant plastic surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register, Mr Taimur Shoaib offers expert opinion on a wide range of surgical and aesthetic procedures. His experience spans both the NHS and private sectors, with particular focus on reconstructive, facial and aesthetic surgery — making him well-placed to provide informed, balanced and accurate analysis in medicolegal cases.

He accepts instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and is also able to act as a Single Joint Expert when required.

Types of Reports Offered

Mr Shoaib is available to produce reports related to:

  • Clinical negligence claims
  • Personal injury involving facial or bodily trauma
  • Surgical outcomes (including complications or poor cosmetic results)
  • Assessment of long-term scarring or disfigurement
  • Opinions on treatment necessity, adequacy or causation

Appointment and Reporting Process

Following instruction, Mr Shoaib can review case notes and/or see the client in person at his Glasgow clinic. Reports are typically issued within two weeks of the assessment and receipt of all relevant documentation. Urgent reports can occasionally be accommodated — please enquire regarding availability.

Appointments are arranged directly with the legal firm or instructing agency. Written consent from the claimant or pursuer must be obtained before assessment.

Fees and Terms

Mr Shoaib operates a transparent, hourly-rate fee structure. The standard fee covers one appointment and preparation of the report. All fees are payable in advance of the report being released. Should additional work be required — such as supplementary reporting, clarification letters or court attendance — this is billed at the same hourly rate.

Please note that non-attendance by the client will result in the full fee being charged, as time is specifically reserved for the appointment.
